ALESSANDRO MELE
PRESIDENT OF THE COMETA FOUNDATION SWITZERLAND
Italian nationality.
Degree in Economics and Banking (Siena), Master’s in Economics and Management of Non-Profit Organizations (Pavia), and specialization in CSR Management (Milan).
Alessandro is President of Cometa and serves as the Italian representative of the UNESCO-UNEVOC network.
Founder of the Association Rete Fondazioni ITS ITALIA, formerly President and now Vice President; he is also Secretary General of the ITS Foundation for Tourism and Hospitality (IATH Academy) in Cernobbio. Previously, he worked as a Chartered Accountant and Auditor in the Tax & Legal division, Finance sector, at Studio Pirola, a member of the PriceWaterhouseCoopers network.
FABIO STAMPANONI
VICE PRESIDENT OF THE COMETA FOUNDATION SWITZERLAND
Swiss nationality.
Law degree from the University of Bern. After obtaining his license to practice law as well as the fiduciary license in Ticino, he completed a Master’s in Tax Law, thus specializing in this professional field.
For over twenty years, he has been practicing in Lugano, through which he has progressively become more involved in the world of philanthropy. He serves on several Foundation Boards in Switzerland and abroad and is a member of the Board of ASFESI (Association of Grant-Making Foundations of Italian-Speaking Switzerland).
RENATO CHIESA
SECRETARY OF THE COMETA FOUNDATION SWITZERLAND
Swiss nationality.
After completing his scientific-linguistic high school diploma in the Canton of Schwyz (Switzerland), Renato began his professional career with the German chemical group BASF.
Following various commercial and managerial responsibilities, he went on to hold several CEO positions in Italy and Greece. He later served as CEO of ICRO Coatings Spa, a major family-owned company based in Bergamo.
For the past twenty years, he has been closely connected to Cometa, and for several years he has held the position of Treasurer of the Amici di Cometa Onlus Association.
